Pics of Pax with Peanut Allergy

Here are some pictures, all but the last one is from yesterday. The rash that you can see on his face, chin, and neck is now covering his whole body. Just breaks my heart.

A picture from this morning, after a dose of Benadryl. His right eye is still swollen, but looks much better than it did when I found him in his crib this morning. I think that side of his face is worse because some of the peanut butter had gotten onto his finger and he wiped it on that side of his face. Apparently kiddos can be allergic with just skin contact.

The only thing I do know about peanut allergies is that you have to be VERY careful when you order stuff at resteraunts. Many places fry stuff in oils that contain peanut/nut based oils. A friend's son has severe allergy to it and she has to be very careful.
Thank goodness he is ok though! I just LOVE the pirate ship pics! They are getting so big so fast!!!!
HUGS!

Please visit us at www.beyondapeanut.com and join our facebook. The diagnosis of a peanut allergy can be overwhelming. It does get easier, and there are a lot of great resources and safe products available. It is scary, and a lot of people do not realize how dangerous it is. It sounds like you are doing the right thing by educating your self.

Poor guy. I bet that was terrifying for you :( I don't have any good advice for you except to carry an epi-pen with you at all times. Make sure you know how to use it, when it is dispensed from the pharmacy, make sure it has at least a year until it expires, and if you should ever have to use it, go to the ER (these are all my pharmacist tips!). All that being said, I hope you never have to use one.
